Again: Day (日)

Calligraphy ink on raw xuan paper, wet-mounted
Float-mounted on wood and framed in teak
Unsigned, one piece only

ABOUT THE SERIES Doing something again and again is often seen as practice, as though its only purpose is to get closer to perfect. But repetition can also be a way of letting the mind stop thinking and simply do. You write and write the same character over and over until the word stops becoming a word. The first time you write it, you think about the strokes and structure. By the hundredth time, you stop thinking about it and just write.
